ExTrA cReDiT!

Here is a chance for your student to get 5 extra credit points.  Have a discussion with them about YOUR (the parent) favorite book.  You can discuss plot or the overall mood of the book.  Have your student write the title of the book and 5 sentences about the plot or the mood.  Make sure you (the parent) sign the paper.  Your student may then turn it in to me for extra credit.  This is due Friday, January 31.  Get your book discussion on!

Crystal Bridges

GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY
What do you get when art, history, and literature collide?  An amazing learning experience through the PCMS Library, Crystal Bridges Museum of Art, and performance theater through Memorial Auditorium…that’s what!!
Literature and art reflect various themes, including MAN’S INHUMANITY TO MAN.  Simply put, “man’s inhumanity to man” refers to the cruelty of one person to another.  This theme appears over and over again through stories of bullying, war, discrimination, etc.  Want to learn more???
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THIS GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY?
·         7th-8th graders have the opportunity to explore MAN’S INHUMANITY TO MAN through a novel study, a tour of the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, and a performance of The Grapes of Wrath at Memorial Auditorium.
·        This GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY is limited to the first 40 students.
·        Students will be selected based upon successful project completion, and projects will be graded in the order in which they are received.  Only high quality projects will be accepted; others will be sent back for revision.
·        The project deadline is 3:00 on Thursday, March 13; however, if 40 students successfully complete projects before that date, no more projects will be accepted!
